One of the risks of rookie card redemptions, is that there isn't really a track history of the player. There may be a few stickers that the company picked up during the pre-season rookie premiere to add into their lower-end products, but beyond that, you aren't sure if a player is just waiting until the off-season, or if they will just forget all about it and never send the autographs back. Luckily, Olli Maatta was apparently just waiting for the off-season, as I just received an autograph of his from Upper Deck.
This card comes from 2013-14 Upper Deck SP Authentic and is serial-numbered 931/999. It comes from the Future Watch subset, which is this brand's rookie card, and following the Young Guns and The Cup rookies, is one of the more sought-after ones each year. Maatta is one of many players who just scribbles a few letters for his signature, but it is still a great-looking card and one I am happy to be adding to my Pittsburgh Penguins collection.
