Wiercioch was drafted in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2008 NHL entry draft. He spent most of 2011-12 with the AHL's Binghampton Senators, but got up to the pro team for 8 games, tallying 2 assists in the process. Still, it was just the first season out of college (University of Denver) for Wiercioch, so he still has a bright future ahead of him.
