An Event-Used Towel Card, Plus a Few Extras

I have TONS of jersey cards, plenty of patch cards, and a few stick cards, but I was able to get my hands on a completely different piece of memorabilia: an event used towel card. This one in particular is from promotional packs given out at the 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention, and features a three-colored jumbo towel swatch from Edmonton Oilers defenseman Justin Schultz.

I also added yet another Panini Prime card to my "Local Team" Collection, with this quad jersey card of Wild left winger Jason Zucker and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler, numbered 47/200. The two red Zucker swatches and two white Fowler swatches spell out "GOLD," in reference to them winning gold medals as members of Team U.S.A. at the 2010 World Junior Championships.

Lastly, I also picked up this 2012-13 Rookie Anthology Rookie Treasures card of Tyson Barrie, numbered 619/699. While the rookie class of 2012-13 is a little weak due to lockout-based restrictions, Barrie appears to be one of those players with some staying-time in the NHL. He played in 32 NHL games last year, and appears to be a mainstay on the roster for the 2013-14 campaign.

  1. Justin Schultz is a hoopy frood who really knows where his towel's at.

...I don't know if you'd get the reference, but it had to be said.

  2. Was that a Hitchhiker's Guide reference?

  3. Yes, it goes back to either the books or the radio series, depending on what you consider to be the original source.
