The purpose of this blog is two-fold: 1, to meet my fellow collectors and trade a few cards, and 2, to brag about all of the amazing hardware I've been able to get my greedy little hands on.

Sam Cassell Autograph from 2012-13 Past & Present
I don't often purchase basketball cards, but when I do, it's of a Houston Rocket, like this Sam Cassell autographed card from 2012-13 Past & Present
During the two years that Michael Jordan had retired during the mid-'90s, it was the Houston Rockets who picked up the slack, winning two NBA Championships, and Cassell was a big part of both of that. Drafted 24th overall by Houston in 1993, Cassell played only three years for the team winning two NBA Championships in 1994 and 1995, before spending time with the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, and Boston Celtics, where he finished up his NBA career with his third NBA Championship.Cassell is currently an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards, where he has been since 2009.

When my boys were young they were big Rocket fans and Sam Cassell was their favorite player. I'm glad to hear he still has a place in the league.
