February Group Break Sign Ups - Artifacts, Black Diamond, and Between the Pipes

Hey everybody. It's been a couple of months since I did my last group break, and I'm ready for another.

Here are the three boxes I will be busting this time around:

2007-08 Upper Deck Artifacts
Artifacts contains 10 packs per box and packs quite a punch. Each pack contains just 4 cards, but there are a lot of cool bonuses thrown into it. The box will contain two jersey or patch cards numbered to 299 or less, one combo memorabilia card, and one "Autofacts" autographed card. The box will also contain two serial-numbered rookie cards, and one rookie redemption (which most likely has expired, but more on that later). There are also serial-numbered parallels, ranging from /100, all the way down to 1/1.

Also, for whichever team pulls the expired rookie redemption, I will replace it with a complete base set (1-100) of 2012-13 Black Diamond, to ensure that you come away with something more than an expired piece of cardboard. I was able to put together two sets from the boxes I opened, so since I only need one, I figure it would be a good compensation for the expired rookie redemption.

2009-10 Upper Deck Black Diamond
At 24 packs per box and 5 cards per pack, this product will give us plenty more base cards than Artifacts. It also has a guarantee of two quad memorabilia cards. In addition, we will also find one quad diamond card and three triple diamond card. It guarantees just those two quad jersey cards, but there are still plenty of other rarities that can be found, like Gemography autographed cards (one in every two boxes), Hardware Heroes die-cut cards, numbered /100 (two per case), and horizontal variations (die-cut versions 2 per box, regular versions 1 every other box). So there is some great potential for some cool cards beyond just the guaranteed two hits.

2010-11 ITG Between the Pipes
This is a goaltender-only set from In the Game, which comes with 18 packs, eight cards per pack. Each box will include two memorabilia cards and two autographed cards. In addition to the hits, we will also pull two Masked Men III insert cards. Now a portion of of these cards will feature players from the minor league and junior league levels. Here's how those cards will be dispersed. For players on AHL teams, those cards will go to whichever team the AHL squad was affiliated with during the 2010-11 season. Junior league players will go to whichever team drafted them, or if they went undrafted, whichever team first gave him an NHL contract.

I hope some of that interests you.

Here are some of the stipulations:

-There will be 15 slots for this break. Each slot will cost $18, and will include the team you pick, as well as a second randomized team. Any additional slots will cost just $15.
-For the un-picked teams, I will disperse them this way. First, I will list the remaining teams alphabetically by city. Then, I will use random.org to randomize the names of the participants and use that order to assign the teams down the list. For example, after randomization, the person's name who comes up first would get Anaheim, second gets Boston, etc. as long as those teams were not picked originally.
-I will guarantee a hit for EVERY slot that is purchased. If a participant does not get an autograph or memorabilia card from any of these three boxes, I will throw one in from my own collection, so that everybody will be going away with something.
-Also, if any expired redemption card is pulled (apart from the Artifacts rookie redemption), I will replace it with an autograph or memorabilia card from my collection, so you don't have to worry about being shorted a hit on an older product.
-Any card with a player from a team that has since moved, will go to wherever that team moved to. For example, Quebec Nordiques will go to the Colorado Avalanche, Atlanta Flames will go to the Calgary Flames, K.C. Scouts will go to the New Jersey Devils, etc. In the case of the Winnipeg Jets, any cards of the original Jets will go to the Phoenix Coyotes, since that is where the franchise moved to, and any cards of the Atlanta Thrashers will go to the Winnipeg Jets slot.
-Any card featuring an NHL player in a non-NHL uniform will be randomized among the NHL teams he has played for. For example, a Curtis Joseph card from Between the Pipes that features him in his Team Canada uniform will be randomized among the Blues, Oilers, Maple Leafs, Red Wings, Coyotes, and Flames.
-Any cards featuring players from multiple teams will be randomed off using random.org. Any hits will be done on video immediately after the box is opened, by listing the applicable teams and randomizing the list 3 times.
-I hope that all made sense.

    1. The deadline, pretty much, is whenever the spots fill up, but I can't order the boxes until I get the payments in. I'll pencil you in for the Rangers. Just let me know if you decide you'll be unable to participate.
