My LCS hosted a relatively small card show the day before Superbowl, so I figured I'd take a look and see what I could find. Now, the products that the dealers had consisted mostly of football, specifically the Minnesota Vikings, but I was still able to find some pretty cool cards at a very good price. One dealer had a box of autos and relics for $2 a piece, so I had to grab up a few of those. Here's a look at the 10 cards that 20 bucks got me:
Current Penguins with their former teams:
2006-07 Flair Showcase Chris Kunitz, 2007-08 SP Authentic Matt Niskanen, 2010-11 Limited James Neal 76/199.
By the way, both James Neal and Matt Niskanen were traded from Dallas to Pittsburgh for defenseman Alex Goligoski. I'm not saying it's Cam Neely for Barry Pederson quite yet, but with Neal's production getting better and better, it's starting to shape up in that direction.
2006-07 Be A Player Scott Niedermayer, 2010-11 Zenith Krys Barch, 2012-13 Certified Jaromir Jagr 141/299, 2011-12 Elite Rick Nash, 2008 First Edition Matt Schaub
Really. I got Scott Niedermayer's autograph for just two bucks. Seriously. Also, how cool does Krys Barch's autograph look! I kind of like the Stars, but I bought the card for the look of the signature alone.
2009 Black Joe Theismann 153/250, 2004 Throwback Threads Steve Finley 5/25
The Theismann is a manufactured patch card, but looks really cool. I picked up the Finley, not only because I used to see him play for the Astros when I lived in Houston, but because it also features a five-colored patch.
The last two cards are definitely up for trade, so let me know if you are interested, and I'd also be willing to part with any from the middle group (except for the Niedermayer) if the right offer came along.I also picked up a box FULL of autos and relics, and I'll post them as soon as I can, but it took me a whole week to post these 10 cards, so who knows how long that one will take me.
