This card is numbered just to 25 copies and like most of the cards from Prime, features game-worn memorabilia as the centerpiece. What makes the Showcase Swatches cards so cool, though, is that it is put together with different layers of an acetate material, giving it a shadowbox effect. The background of this card features a gigantic piece of gold fabric from a Crosby-worn Penguins jersey.
I paid a little bit more than other Sidney Crosby Showcase Swatches cards had gone for previously, but I was ok with that. These cards come not only with gold fabric as the background, but also black or white. I thought that the gold fabric looks the best, and when you consider that there are only 25 cards combined of the three colors, the gold fabric has even fewer copies. I certainly didn't want to miss out on this one.
