Trip to WalMart (part 2)

Along with the Topps Variety Box purchased at Wal-Mart this morning, I decided to pick up a couple of Topps rack packs. What got me wxcited first of all, was pulling three of the big rookies from this year: Jeremy Hellickson, Freddie Freeman and Aroldis Chapman.

I also pulled my second "legend variation" card of this year. The first was Rogers Horsby, and today, I found me a Johnny Bench. Any Reds fans out there, let me know if you're interested.

I also got me a few of the diamond parallels and some lackluster 60 Years of Topps. I love the insert set just as much as last years "Cards Your Mom Through Out," but after putting so many of the classic cards in last year's set, we're left with cards like the 1986 Dave Winfield and the 1991 Roberto Alomar. They are both hall of famers, but these just seem to be random card from their playing years. Still love the concept though.

There was also two Diamond Giveaway cards, which gave me the following:

1996 Carl Everett and 1986 Expos Leaders

Theses were not quite as good as the redemptions from the variety box, but the Expos leaders has Andre Dawson on the front, so it wasn't a total loss. If anyone needs and Topps base cards or inserts, hit me up. I know there are some guys out there who are collecting the diamond parallels.

Happy trading, everyone!

  1. I actually pulled a short print from one of those Wal-Mart $9.95 boxes earlier this year. The second one in my collection, but the first one that I've pulled.

  2. I don't think I have that Prado sparkly card...

  3. I've pulled a total of four SPs the past 2 years. Three of them were from rack packs.

    Colbey, the Prado is yours.
